My husband has been diagnosed with rosacea. I%26#039;m very worried about him and trying to get my head round all this and how I can see its affecting him inside. He%26#039;s trying to watch his diet etc. He left work early last night because he said his face was practically on fire, it just seems like such an awful condition, one that we know cannot be cured. He%26#039;s been on the rozex cream for only about 10 days, but since using it his skin seems to be getting worse, redder and redder. Is this possible with the cream or is it just that he%26#039;s probably eaten or drank something that is triggering a reaction? How long do reactions last and do they normally come on straight away? Is it possible that we the right treatment he can have normal skin or will it always be red like this? I%26#039;ve made another appointment with the doctors for Monday and I think I%26#039;ll go with him so we can both ask any questions that we have. What in your opinion is the best and most effective treatment for rosacea?
Many thanks
|||Rosacea is a form of acne. Doctors do not have a good resolution to this problem because they treat the symptoms, not the %26quot;root cause.%26quot; Yes, get their opinions, but that is what it is, an opinion. The proven link to acne is a disordered intestinal bacterial ecology often due to intestinal infections. Poor diet exascerbates this condition, especially eating fried foods, hydrogenated oils, sugar, vegetable oils (like Canola, Soybean, Cottonseed, and Corn oils). If your husband was breast fed as an infant, he stands a better chance of getting over this more rapidly.
If he concentrates of treating the problem and not the root cause, he will suffer a long time with this. If he concentrates on making his body healthy, overall, and focuses on improving his digestive track and organs involved in that, he should see some results relatively quickly and drugs are NOT going to do that for him.
I strongly suggest he see a Certified Nutritional Therapist to get tested for nutritional deficiencies and get a good diet that is going to make him healthy. |||I know how distressing this condition can be because Ive seen it many times with my clients, Im a beauty therapist. One of my clients cut out wheat completely from her diet and restricted dairy, and her rosacea completely went away. I know that%26#039;s very difficult to eliminate from your diet, but even if he tried if for a month and see if that can help him in any way?
Good luck|||Hi, I had rosacea in high school - and it is a form of acne as someone else has pointed out. My skin was always red and felt hot to the touch. I eventually went on Roacutane - it%26#039;s quite hectic medication but it sorted me out. That was about 10 years ago. While I now tend to be %26#039;rosier%26#039; than the average person - and I never, ever wear blusher - my skin is as near perfect as it%26#039;s going to get. Research roacutane and decide whether you can cope with the side effects (I got sun burnt really easily and my lips were chapped), and don%26#039;t get put off by horror stories about suicide etc. I went into the treatment informed, coped, and have never regretted it.|||Try Aloette.com. It is an all natural skin care. I know for a fact that it has cured rosacea for some women in the Seattle area. I urge you to look it up. It is a little expensive but it is worth it to have relief. Drink alot of water to flush his system and his skin hydrated try pure aloe vera from the plant it may be smelly but that is what they use to ease pain with burns so it might help. I would stop the cream if it is making it worse. Alot of chemical based creams are very harsh for the skin. I would also go see a natualpathic physician and see what else natural there is out there for the skin with out chemicals is the way to go. It has helped so many people. If God made it he want you to use it good luck|||Try the Mario Badescu Products: Calma Mask, Cream Soap and Control Cream. Also, email a lady named Carole Goddard (oddly enough found at www.carolegoddard.co.uk) and explain your situation. She gave us many samples and advised us how to use them until my husband found one or two that worked for him. I suggest you get testers of many things, as each case reacts to different treatments differently.
Things to look out for are caffeine, smoking, stress and sunlight. Also, try satin pillowcases.
My husband underwent hypnonis (he%26#039;s a hypnotherapist and did it himself) to help combat it and his skin looks great.
I believe breakouts will last until the irritant is taken away.|||Have him wash his face with Cetaphil and rinse with warm water and pat dry. Then apply Cetaphil lotion gently. It is so mild and soothing. If the Rosex isn%26#039;t working it%26#039;s good he%26#039;s going back to the doctors. Rosex should be making it better, not worse - I would stop using it. I also used Elidel which I found helped straight away, but it depends what your husband has... It could be a misdiagnosis as sometimes Rosacea is confused with dermatitis. A damp cold washcloth will help ease the burning. good luck.
